Before a machine can hear, it turns sound into numbers — just like it turned pictures into numbers in Module 1! Sound is really tiny, fast wiggles in the air. Let's see them, hear them, and play with them.
Press Play and drag the sliders. Frequency = how fast it wiggles = how high it sounds. Volume = how big the wiggle = how loud. Watch the wave change as you hear it!

Turn on your microphone and hum, talk, or clap. Your voice makes wiggles too — messier than a pure tone, but the same idea. Loud = big wiggles, quiet = small.
A target tone is hiding at a secret frequency. Press Play target to hear it, then slide your frequency in Toy 1 to match it. Get close and the meter fills — hit 3 targets!
