Before a machine can hear, it turns sound into numbers — just like it turned pictures into numbers in Module 1! Sound is really tiny, fast wiggles in the air. Let's see them, hear them, and play with them.

Every sound is a wiggle

See it? Slide frequency up → the wiggles squeeze closer together (higher pitch). Slide volume up → the wiggles get taller (louder). That's all sound is — and the computer stores it as those numbers over time!
